HPE Edgeline Servers

HPE Edgeline Servers provide rugged, high-density compute for organisations that need to process data close to where it is generated. Designed for demanding edge environments, the range supports low-latency data ingestion, analytics and workload processing in size-, weight- and power-constrained deployments where traditional data center infrastructure may not be practical.

The range includes the HPE Compute Edge Server e930t, HPE Edgeline EL8000 Converged Edge System and HPE ProLiant Compute EL140 Gen12. The e930t is a multi-workload edge platform with support for vRAN for 5G with vRAN Boost, AI multi-access edge computing and video analytics, as well as a bladed design for slide-in, slide-out servicing and upgrades. The EL8000 provides compact ruggedized compute with 10G SFP+ switching, 10GbE network mezzanine options and storage support for high-capacity data logging and analytics.

For maritime organisations deploying compute capability at the edge, the HPE Edgeline range provides a strong foundation for secure, resilient and manageable infrastructure. The EL140 Gen12 supports 5G, AI and analytics on a rugged, dense compute platform built for demanding environments, with up to 24 network ports, integrated Juniper Cloud-Native Router functionality and HPE iLO security. Across the range, HPE Edgeline systems support distributed operations requiring compact deployment, high-performance processing and reliable management outside the traditional data center.

High-density compute nodes 2U single-socket server blade for HPE Edgeline EL8000t / EL8000s systems; each blade operates independently. EL8000t configurations support up to two e930t blades. 5U chassis supporting HPE ProLiant e910 and e920 1U server blades or e910/e920d 2U server blades. Supports up to four 1U blades or up to two 2U blades, with mixed 1U/2U configurations allowed to 4U total blade height. 2U server sled for the HPE ProLiant Compute EL9000 chassis. Up to two EL140 Gen12 servers are supported per EL9000 chassis.
Built-in I/O Broadcom BCM5720 with access through the EL8000t chassis management module; 1GbE maintenance network link from the blade into the chassis; server blade power LED/button and UID LED/button. Edgeline Chassis Manager included for chassis health, power and fan monitoring. Optional 10GbE SFP+ switch support provides in-chassis aggregation with external SFP+ uplink; 10GbE network mezzanine option also supported. Integrated Intel Ethernet Controller E825-C with 8 x 25GbE QSFP; supports up to two OCP DSFF NICs providing 8 ports each, for up to 24 x 25GbE network ports. Also includes 1Gb RJ45 dedicated iLO, USB-C front iLO service, USB 3.0 Type-A, GNSS SMA, and 4 SMA ports for 10 MHz/ePPS input/output.
Storage Up to 8 x M.2 NVMe SSDs: four on the system board and four via optional riser. Maximum storage: 57.6 TB with 8 x 7.2 TB M.2 NVMe SSDs. M.2 2280/22110 supported. Storage is configured on the installed e910/e920 server blades. Optional chassis storage bay supports up to 8 x SFF SAS/SATA drives; maximum storage bay capacity is 122.4 TB with 8 x 15.36 TB SSDs. 2 x M.2 NVMe SSDs supported by default, with 2280 or 22110 form factors. Maximum storage: 3.84 TB with 2 x 1.92 TB. Intel VROC NVMe support available depending on licensing.
Power options Power is supplied through the host EL8000t / EL8000s chassis. Blade power guidance: typical 300 W per U, maximum 400 W per U. HPE Flex Slot power supplies, min 1/max 2. Options include 1500W 264VAC, 1500W -48VDC, and 1500W 264VAC Titanium Power Supply Kit. Two power supplies are recommended for redundancy; AC and DC power supply options can be mixed. Power is supplied through the EL9000 chassis using 2 x HPE M-CRPS power supplies. Options include 3000W Titanium hot-plug reverse airflow AC and 2000W -48VDC hot-plug reverse airflow. AC and DC power supplies cannot be mixed in the same chassis.
Expansion slots Left riser supports 2 x PCIe Gen5 FHFL x16 cards and 1 x PCIe Gen5 HHHL x16 card. Optional right riser supports 1 x PCIe Gen5 HHHL x16 card, or can be replaced by a 4-slot NVMe M.2 enablement kit. Expansion varies according to the installed e910/e920 blade configuration. Chassis-level options include the storage bay and up to two 10GbE SFP+ switches for in-chassis network aggregation. Option 1: 2 x FHHL PCIe 5.0 x16 slots. Option 2: 2 x OCP 3.0 DSFF slots, each PCIe 5.0 x16.
