The Solu-Blu™ CO2 Exchange from Pro-Oceanus is a dual-purpose instrument for measuring CO₂ partial pressure in surface water and ambient air. Developed for freshwater, coastal, and autonomous exchange studies, the system combines a submerged Solu-Blu CO2 Exchange sensor for water-side pCO₂ measurements with an AirLink intake that samples air above the surface. Alternating between water and atmospheric readings provides the paired measurements required for surface CO₂ flux calculations, while WMO-traceable calibration standards support measurement consistency.
Its compact dimensions, low weight, and 0.84 W power draw make the Solu-Blu CO2 Exchange suitable for distributed monitoring and integration with buoys, gliders, ASVs, and other supported platforms. The unit operates at approximately one-seventh the power and one-fifth the size of a traditional high-accuracy air–sea CO₂ sensor. A straightforward user interface supports system integration, while optional mounting brackets provide additional installation flexibility across different platform configurations.
