Enhanced Horizon™ is a camera-based detection and identification system that empowers Open Ocean Robotics' DataXplorer USVs with enhanced situational awareness and hazard detection that far outpaces human abilities. Utilizing advanced AI algorithms to process multiple high-resolution optical and thermal video streams simultaneously, it can automatically recognize ten distinct object classes, including fishing vessels, pleasure craft, and marine debris.
The advanced vision system uses onboard edge processing, ensuring immediate and consistent detection in challenging sea states without latency or reliance on remote computing and connectivity. It is capable of detecting vessels over 9 nautical miles away, well before AIS detection.
Enhanced Horizon™ is tightly integrated into Open Ocean Robotics' XplorerView™ command, control and data analytics platform, providing operators with the timely intelligence they need for rapid decision-making.
