The IQ Prime (V04309) is a compact Battery Management System (BMS) designed for cost-sensitive small-to-medium battery packs. Its integrated architecture combines cell-voltage sensing, temperature monitoring, pack-current measurement, protection, and 180 mA passive balancing. The controller supports 3S to 16S configurations, with onboard MOSFETs handling charge, discharge, pre-charge, and pre-discharge functions. Available variants provide MOSFET voltage ratings matched to the chemistry and pack-voltage requirements.
Continuous current capacity reaches 50 A, while up to three NTC inputs provide cell-temperature monitoring. Redundant voltage and thermal protections work with a heater drive that includes 5 A current sensing. An optional controllable secondary safety fuse extends the protection structure, which also incorporates redundant charge, discharge, and short-circuit safeguards. Onboard resistive sensing measures pack current, while microprocessor-based algorithms estimate state of charge and state of health. A non-isolated CAN or SMBus interface supports communication, and shutdown-mode quiescent consumption remains below 10 μA.
