Tocaro Blue’s ProteusCore™ Marine Radar Processing system delivers advanced radar perception across a wide range of marine applications, including, but not limited to, vessel autonomy systems.

The technology is particularly well suited for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) buoys equipped with X-Band Radar, which operate under strict requirements for low power consumption and intermittent radio frequency transmission.
These autonomous buoy installations must maintain effective sensing and communication performance while minimizing energy use and signal exposure. ProteusCore is designed to address these challenges through specialized radar processing and adaptive automation.
The ProteusCore Autofocus capability rapidly adjusts to changing environmental and sea-state conditions to achieve high-quality target detections without operator supervision. This feature ensures consistent detection accuracy and stable performance in dynamic maritime environments.
The system’s Machine Learning Classifier begins identifying targets within ten seconds of leaving standby mode, supporting fast reactivation and efficient surveillance cycles where power and transmission are managed conservatively.
ProteusCore Tracking minimizes network latency and bandwidth by distilling raw radar imagery into low-bandwidth trackers. These data-efficient outputs can be transmitted easily through satellite or LTE links, allowing situational awareness information to be shared with remote systems and operators even under constrained communications conditions.
By combining rapid autofocus, machine learning-based detection, and bandwidth-efficient data handling, Tocaro Blue’s ProteusCore delivers intelligent radar processing suited to smart buoy ISR and other marine sensing applications.
