FarSounder, a global leader in 3D Forward Looking Sonar (FLS) technology, has launched a new web app featuring an intuitive user interface (UI).
This powerful and versatile app is compatible with tablets and laptops, with plans to extend support to multi-function displays (MFDs). Mariners can now access the advanced 3D sonar display from virtually anywhere on board, whether on deck or at the helm, enhancing both flexibility and operational efficiency.
Matthew Zimmerman, CEO of FarSounder, said, “Mariners need more than just accurate data. They need that data to be accessible, intuitive, and actionable, and ideally from anywhere. Our new web app and easy-to-understand UI deliver on that promise, giving vessel operators a level of flexibility and safety they’ve never had before.”
The updated UI seamlessly integrates sonar data with chart and aerial imagery layers, along with AIS and ARPA targets, creating a clear, comprehensive, and interactive navigation environment. By moving beyond the limitations of a fixed workstation, FarSounder gives ship operators enhanced situational awareness without sacrificing convenience.
At the core of this advancement is the FarSounder Argos 3D Forward Looking Sonar system, providing real-time underwater awareness up to 1,000 meters ahead of the vessel.
