The BlueFloat Energy | Renantis Partnership has appointed DORIS as Principal Designer on the Broadshore and Bellrock floating offshore wind farm projects in Scotland.
DORIS is a leading provider of engineering, advisory, and project management services for the energy sector.
The Broadshore and Bellrock projects, located 50 km north of Fraserburgh and 130 km east of Aberdeen respectively, are being developed by the strategic partnership formed to deliver floating offshore wind farms in the UK.
With a cumulative capacity of up to 2.1 GW, the two proposed floating wind farms were awarded their licenses during the 2022 ScotWind leasing round.
As Principal Designer, DORIS will deploy its 20 years’ experience and robust knowledge of Construction, Design and Management (CDM) 2015 regulations to plan, manage, monitor and coordinate design risk management activities. The company will also support contractor selection and appointments, ensuring CDM and HSEQ management system compliance across the pre-construction phases of the two floating offshore wind farms through to a final investment decision.
Christophe Sarri, Chief Commercial Officer for DORIS, commented, “The offshore wind industry in Scotland and the wider floating offshore wind market are two vital components to achieve a net-zero future and we look forward to working with BlueFloat Energy and Renantis to make these projects possible.”
David Robertson, Project Director for Broadshore and Bellrock, said, “We are really pleased to bring DORIS onboard as Principal Designer for our flagship floating offshore wind projects in Scotland. DORIS’ expertise and strength of service offering will help BlueFloat Energy | Renantis Partnership pioneer new technology and safely accelerate the transition to a cleaner energy future”.
