The Ocean Sciences Meeting (OSM) is a central conference unifying the oceans community to share findings, connect scientists from around the globe to ultimately advance the impact of science.
The meeting welcomes a varied community of organizations, educators, scientists, journalists, policymakers, and students, all striving for a community in which our global partnerships and collaborations can drive us closer to a more renewable tomorrow. Plus, the event is co-sponsored by the American Geophysical Union, the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO), and The Oceanography Society (TOS) enabling attendees to connect communities, cross disciplines, and form lasting partnerships.
This event, held every two years, will be running from 22-27 February in 2026.
Ocean Sciences Meeting 2026 will focus on several key themes crucial to ocean science and technology including:
Plenaries
These featured sessions cover a diverse range of aquatic science topics.
Oral Sessions
These 90-minute scientific sessions, approved by the program committee, feature talks and moderated Q&A discussions. Presentations can be delivered in-person or online and may follow an oral or panel format.
eLightning Sessions
These sessions, assigned by the program committee after abstract reviews, last for 90-minute in total and begin with concise three-minute lightning talks, offering an overview of dynamic, digital, and interactive posters
Poster Sessions
All approved scientific sessions will receive at the minimum an in-person poster component which will occur during dedicated two-hour blocks.
Town Halls
Open to all meeting attendees, these one-hour sessions are best for collecting feedback or raising awareness, government agencies and academic programs to gather input from the OSM community.
