Reach Robotics is launching the expanded class of its Reach X manipulators – a series of modular and highly dexterous multitools for portable subsea intervention.

Set to be released at Oceanology International 2024, these manipulators were designed for the mission-critical defense sector, and Reach X is increasingly regarded as the world’s leading complex inspection and intervention solution to replace human divers in harsh underwater environments.

Reach Robotics invites attendees of Oceanology International 2024 to discover the modular series of manipulators set to simplify offshore intervention: The Reach X2, X3, X5 & X7.

Developed for Critical Mission Success

Designed with collaborative input from the US and UK militaries, the Reach X was built to answer key criteria that served mission-critical applications for maritime and naval defence, such as mine clearance and EOD. These criteria include human-like dexterity, a high-power but lightweight formfactor and reliability in field. The resulting Reach X manipulator is a best-in-class system that performs high-risk applications with portable ROVs.

Expanded for Complex Commercial Intervention

Since the release of Reach X to the subsea defence market, Reach Robotics has experienced growing demand from the Commercial sector for modular light-weight manipulators with that same high-dexterity X-factor.

Intending to fill the capability gap between human divers and large work-class manipulators, commercial operators are seeking portable solutions for offshore asset integrity management (AIM). AIM campaigns are essential for offshore energy and research sectors with subsea infrastructure, but often come with high operational costs and complex logistics footprints.

Reach X dexterous manipulators are set to simplify this by enabling more with less. Prioritising modularity, versatility and field serviceability, the Reach X is an adaptive robotic multitool facilitating non-destructive testing (NDT) and complex intervention for commercial expeditions. With proven integration on leading portable ROV and UGV platforms, the Reach X provides a step-change in capability to the commercial remote operations community.

A Track Record in Advanced Underwater Technology

Making underwater robotics arms is no small task. Supported by seven years of innovation, customer feedback and development cycles, Reach Robotics technology continues to dominate the portable subsea intervention landscape. Though new to market, the Reach X manipulator draws on the track record of engineering and manufacturing excellence that comes from having built, tested and shipped close to 1000 systems to date.

Reach Robotics is proud to launch the expansion of Reach X, a modular series of advanced intervention multitools set to push the boundaries of capability with portable ROVs.
