Decarbonising operations to reduce emissions and operational costs remains a key priority at Seawork 2025.

In 2025, the European Onshore Power Supply Association (EOPSA) will support the event with a dedicated pavilion in the Associations Hall, highlighting the role of electrification and shore power in driving sustainable progress across the commercial marine industry.

The Seawork 2025 Conference Programme will centre on decarbonisation, featuring free-to-attend sessions that share valuable insights and real-world experiences on critical themes shaping the industry. EOPSA President, Roland Teixeira de Mattos, will moderate a key session on the latest developments in onshore power supply. He will be joined by a panel of industry experts, including:

  • Leo Hambro, Commercial Director, Tidal Transit Limited
  • Lex Hanham, Business Development Manager, Associated British Ports
  • Andy Hurley, Director, Marine Zero
  • Chris Poyner, Head of Shore Power, ABB

Additional sessions will explore the future of marine fuels through case studies, and examine how artificial intelligence and autonomous systems are enhancing fleet performance and delivering operational efficiencies.

Innovation Showcased on the Water

Seawork 2025’s drive for decarbonisation continues on the pontoons. Damen will showcase its new all-electric RSD-E Tug 2513. The first of its kind, named Sparky, was delivered to Ports of Auckland, New Zealand, in August 2022 and was featured on the TIME Best Inventions List later that year.

Other electric vessels to be demonstrated on the water at Seawork include:

Electric Outboard – presenting the Momentum M10, thought to be the lightest 10kW (15hp) electric outboard available.

RAD Propulsion – showcasing the Odyssey Pursuit 560Z with the RAD 40 electric outboard, featuring a 61kWh battery and offering a range of up to 100 nautical miles with zero emissions.

Exhibitors in the Electric Power Category

The Electric Power category at Seawork 2025 features a strong lineup of exhibitors, including:

  • Bluestrom – Electric thrusters (Stand D6, Netherlands)
  • Molabo – H26 (Germany)
  • Rim Drive Technology – Electric motors (Stand G1, Netherlands)
  • Vessev – Electric boats (Stand E15, USA)
  • BOS Power – Zero propulsion systems (Stand H3, Norway)
  • Echandia Marine AB – Maritime battery systems for electrification (Stand E21, Sweden)
  • Ecomar Propulsion – Zero-emission powertrains (Stand D20, UK)
  • Energy Solutions – Marine electrical power solutions (Stand H9, UK)
  • ePropulsion – Electric motors, batteries, and integrated propulsion systems (Stand Q8, UK)
  • Lehmann Marine GmbH – Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery systems (Stand D20, Germany)

Seawork 2025 will take place at the Mayflower Park, Southampton, from 10–12 June 2025, with Speed@Seawork taking place on Monday 9 June in Cowes, Isle of Wight, UK.
