The HydroCAT-EP V2 from Sea-Bird Scientific is a self-contained multiparameter CTD sensor package that combines conductivity, temperature, depth, and optional biogeochemical measurements—including pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, and chlorophyll fluorescence—into a single, pump-driven system.
The instrument integrates seven field-proven sensors, and builds on the reliability of the MicroCAT (SBE 37) with updated electronics and enhanced signal quality. It supports long-term unattended deployments, with calibration stability across most sensors for at least one year and up to three months for pH. Its glass-electrode pH sensor supports both laboratory and in situ calibration.
Compact and efficient, the HydroCAT-EP V2 reduces cable bulk while maintaining compatibility with earlier HydroCAT configurations. It is commonly used for coral reef monitoring, coastal ecosystem studies, and aquaculture water quality assessment.
