The ECO V2 Series from Sea-Bird Scientific is a compact family of optical sensors designed to measure parameters such as chlorophyll fluorescence, FDOM, turbidity, and optical backscatter. Each sensor supports up to four measurement channels with 16-bit resolution, capturing subtle variations in biological and chemical signals in both coastal and deep-sea environments.
Built for long-term ocean deployments, the ECO V2 features a fully potted optics block for durability and offers optional active and passive antifouling to extend operation in biofouling-prone waters. Enhanced onboard QA/QC functions improve data reliability in the field.
The sensors are compatible with a wide range of platforms, including gliders, AUVs, and profiling floats. They are commonly used for applications such as monitoring primary productivity, detecting harmful algal blooms, tracking oil contamination, and conducting dye studies. ECO V2 sensors also support longer missions with improved power management and onboard data logging.
