Open Ocean Robotics’ DataXplorer™ Enviro USV is a solar-powered, zero-emission vessel designed for oceanographic and environmental applications such as seafloor mapping, metocean data collection, and marine mammal monitoring. It can be customized with a variety of equipment and sensors, including:
- Profiling winch
- Underwater cameras
- Ocean sensors for temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll A, pC02, FDOM, turbidity
- Towed passive acoustic array
- Multibeam sonar
- ADCP
Featuring a patented self-righting system for quick recovery, a shallow draft, and a robust keel design, the rugged platform can undertake challenging voyages of weeks or even months, and is capable of extended autonomous operation without human intervention.
DataXplorer™ Enviro can be transported on a trailer or in the bed of a standard pickup truck. It can be deployed from ship or shoreline with a crew of 1 or 2 people, and a custom LARS system is available for easy launch and recovery at sea. A variety of communication and remote control options are available, including cellular, SATCOM, and radio networks.
A modular payload bay allows the platform to be equipped for specific mission profiles and easily customized to suit new requirements, operational constraints, or evolving environmental conditions.
