SubC Imaging has made real-time video streaming available on its Rayfin underwater cameras, DVR+ Overlay, and its Blackbox recorder, three of the company’s core subsea systems.

This innovative development improves visibility, collaboration, and inspection workflows, by enabling users to consistently and efficiently stream live video and audio to onshore stakeholders.
Rayfin underwater cameras can directly stream to shore, making them key to quick setups and portable inspections where a DVR is not required.
SubC’s Blackbox, installed onboard a vessel, can efficiently stream encoded footage from offshore to onshore teams in real time, while continuing to save full-resolution video locally.
The company’s Blackbox can also be used for high-resolution recording and DVR+ Overlay to receive and manage the stream during more complex operations. This allows live review, annotation, and inspection logging.
The process of activation is consistent across the three supported systems, with a streaming account being activated and users then using a simple toggle to start streaming directly within the software.
Adam Rowe, VP of Software, stated, “This makes streaming much more approachable for our customers. They don’t have to learn different methods for different products. Once you understand the process for one system, you understand it for all of them.”
So this unified streaming method reduces setup time and makes it easier for teams to adopt remote workflows across projects.
