Reach Subsea has secured two new contracts under its frame agreement with Equinor to provide gas reservoir monitoring and subsea inspection services using the uncrewed surface vessel Reach Remote 1.

The first call‑off supports gas reservoir monitoring at the Troll field and includes options for additional survey scopes. This campaign will deploy Reach Subsea’s proprietary gWatch technology, which is designed for reservoir monitoring and has been utilized across major Norwegian gas fields. The technology has been established as a functional match for the Reach Remote platform through the delivery of similar projects for both Norwegian and international clients.

The second contract covers inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) services, involving the detailed inspection of numerous subsea assets across multiple offshore locations. For this scope, a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) will be deployed from the Reach Remote 1 vessel. The operation will utilize purpose‑built tooling specifically designed by the company for remote and uncrewed operations.

Including these latest awards, Equinor has now commissioned a total of three contracts utilizing the Reach Remote 1 platform. These campaigns are scheduled to be executed consecutively and are expected to occupy the majority of the vessel spread’s capacity during the second and third quarters of 2026. Planning and preparation for the upcoming offshore operations are set to begin immediately.

“These awards further strengthen our collaboration with Equinor and confirm Reach Remote as a robust and flexible platform for both reservoir monitoring and IMR operations,” said Jostein Alendal, CEO of Reach Subsea. “The integration of Reach Remote with our proprietary gWatch technology, as well as ROV‑based inspection and tooling, demonstrates how uncrewed solutions can deliver high‑quality data and services while reducing operational complexity and emissions.”

Recent months have seen Reach Subsea execute various offshore operations with the Reach Remote 1, including work within offshore safety zones and the deployment of multiple tools from an unmanned vessel. These new contracts support the continued utilization of the platform and represent further progress in the company’s long‑term strategy regarding the development of remote and autonomous subsea operations.
