Greenroom Robotics has partnered with AMC Search in the development of ‘Whiskers’, an extensible Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) Payload and Control Module.

According to Greenroom Robotics, key to this agreement was the mutual ambition to push maritime autonomy to new heights.

While AMC Search secured a considerable $2.07 million investment from the Defence Innovation Hub to develop advanced sensor technologies for autonomous underwater vehicles, Greenroom Robotics was selected to conduct the software development for the system.

Greenroom Robotics’ mission was to ensure the flawless integration and operation of various components, reflecting its dedication to delivering top-tier software solutions for intricate maritime challenges.

AMC Search said; “At AMC Search, we had the privilege of collaborating with Greenroom Robotics to develop Whiskers, our extensible AUV Payload and Control Module. Our focus was on hardware development, operations and testing, while Greenroom Robotics specialized in software development for the system. Their expertise and dedication were instrumental in bringing our project to fruition.

“Greenroom Robotics provided exceptional remote technical support through the development of the technology, as well as exceptional remote support whilst we carried out on-water testing. Their responsive and professional approach made all the difference, ensuring that our Whiskers module operated seamlessly.

“We look forward to collaborating with Greenroom Robotics in the future to advance maritime autonomy solutions.”

Greenroom Robotics’ engagement with AMC Search highlighted the importance of adaptability and quick response, particularly when offering remote technical assistance. The on-water testing phase was said to have stood as a testament to the company’s software resilience under real-world conditions, delivering faultless performance.

According to Greenroom Robotics, the collaboration signifies a pivotal moment in the company’s journey towards a promising horizon and developing a sovereign capability in maritime autonomy. The insights gained are said to have deepened the company’s knowledge pool and have strengthened its collaborative bond with AMC Search, a partnership Greenroom is looking to grow into the future.
