Swedish company Minesto is inviting investors and the public to view its Dragon 4 tidal energy kite, “Íðunn,” at its workshop in Gothenburg.

The Dragon 4 is returning for a temporary break from its current production duty at the company’s demonstration site in the North Atlantic, where it generates electricity for the Faroe Islands grid. The event is scheduled to take place at the Minesto workshop on October 8, 2025, from 5pm-7pm.

The company, which is headquartered in Gothenburg, develops powerful, modular underwater power plants that generate electricity from tidal streams and ocean currents. Minesto states that it possesses a unique, proven, and commercially viable technology that is contributing to the global energy transition by aiming to make 100% renewable energy systems affordable.

The showcase marks the first time Minesto has opened the doors of its workshop to display one of its tidal power plants, specifically a Dragon 4 unit rated at 100kW.

The program for the event includes an introduction to Minesto’s ocean energy technology and its value for the global energy transition by CEO Dr. Martin Edlund at 5:15pm. Chief Technology Officer Bernt Erik Westre will follow at 5:30pm with a presentation on the Dragon Class Technology. The remainder of the evening, from 5:45pm to 7pm, will feature the continued showcase of Íðunn and provide an opportunity for attendees to meet with Minesto technology experts.

The event is free of charge and open to the public, though early registration is encouraged as seating is limited.
