Perkins returned to Europe’s largest commercial marine exhibition, Seawork, alongside its newly debuting UK and Ireland distributor, DiPerk Power Solutions, to showcase an expanded range of propulsion and auxiliary engines.

The collaboration highlighted a new product lineup engineered for the commercial marine and workboat industry, suitable for both new build and repower applications. Visitors at stand E035 could view the new M245C engine, which forms part of a broader propulsion range that will also include the M175C and M200C models. These platforms are marinized for demanding commercial use as the manufacturer shifts its focus from artillery engines to propulsion, specifically targeting pilot boats and fishing vessels.

Daniel Bhagwanani, Global Sales Manager at Perkins Engines, explained, “We’ve got a new propulsion range we’re heavily investing into. The engineering team is here at Seawork, so we’re really using this week as an opportunity to talk to customers, get their feedback and showcase our new range.” All Perkins marine engines are supplied and supported through a global distributor network, including DiPerk in the UK and Ireland.

The event marked the first exhibition appearance for DiPerk Power Solutions, aligning with the introduction of its new online parts shop. Charlotte Slater, marketing specialist for DiPerk Power Solutions, commented, “Perkins approached us to join them at Seawork which we felt was a great opportunity. This is DiPark’s first show and it’s the perfect platform to raise our profile and our partnership with Perkins. Seawork also aligns with the launch of DiPerk’s new online parts shop, so we can talk to visitors about the comprehensive support we can offer the commercial marine sector. We can support the full life cycle of the Perkins engine, from purchasing, supplying parts through to installing the engine and servicing it. When it reaches the point of overhaul or rebuild, we’re also there to step in.”

The emphasis on engine overhauls reflects a broader industry trend toward rebuilding engines as a sustainable option, a movement felt among many of the Seawork exhibitors. Slater cited Van Kappel, which is a significant customer, frequently choosing engine rebuilds as a sustainable choice. The evolution of engine technology means customers still get the warranty and service but save the cost and environmental burden of always buying new. “Our role is to support customers in making the right decision for their vessel and operations,” continued Slater.
