Tethered Hydrologic Boats are purpose-built river platforms designed to support Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers for hydrologic monitoring. They emphasize instrument stability, GPS integration, and consistent deployment geometry to preserve velocity and discharge measurement quality. Trimaran configurations are commonly used for Teledyne RDI RiverRay, RiverPro, and StreamPro systems, with additional custom vessel options available for alternative profilers.
A high-speed variant extends operational capability in more complex flow regimes and supports use with multiple profiler systems. The hull architecture is designed to maintain steadier tracking in variable currents, helping reduce measurement distortion associated with unstable platforms. These vessels broaden the practical deployment range of ADCP-based surveying in challenging river conditions.
