FLiDAR WindSentinel™

The FLiDAR WindSentinel™ is an industry-leading wind resource assessment buoy that uses LiDAR scanning technology to provide precise measurements of wind speed and direction at turbine hub height and across the full blade span. Certified to Carbon Trust standards, the system also incorporates a comprehensive suite of additional sensors to provide a full set of meteorological and ocean data with uncertainty rates at less than 4%.

The rugged buoy is designed to deliver high performance under even the most extreme of marine environments, featuring a generator system and forty lead acid batteries to ensure continued and reliable operation even when renewable power supplies fail. It also incorporates redundant data collection and telemetry systems to reduce data dropouts under challenging conditions.
